Call for Proposals All About Him Project & Billboard Vision Contest Are you contemporary visual artists who
… then chances are that you may make a dream contestant. This is why:
Goethe - Institut Bulgariena & “ 39 Grama” Newspaper are pleased to announce the launch of the All About Him Project , the ‘visual’ end result of which will be 10 billboard visions produced and exhibited in the public spaces of Sofia downtown area in the fall of 2008. The billboard campaign will be preceded by an open-air exhibition and a catalogue, featuring the wider selection of contestant billboard visions . TOP TEN will feature the final {and finest} selection of billboard visions throughout this contest, chaired by a jury. TOP TEN visions will feed the A-A-H ! Campaign to be launched in the downtown area of Sofia this fall. In addition, PROJECT PARTNERS are planning to hold a touring exhibition and catalogue launch in the home countries of artists participating in this project given that successful working partnerships have been established throughout the project duration. Germany, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey and Greece may well be among the likely destinations in 2009.
Initial registrationof contest materials A standard application form which can be easily downloaded at http ://a -a -h .info will assist you through the registration process. To be considered complete, the standard application form should provide the following data:
All contest materials should be either submitted to materials@a-a-h.info or uploaded on the project website http ://a -a -h .info.
Submission deadline for contest materials is May 6th 2008
ShortlistSelection Artistic works to be included in the catalogue and the exhibition, planned under this project, will be selected during this stage. Artistic merits of individual works, contribution to the A-A-H ! theme and coherence with the overall campaign message will be considered. Each applicant, whose work (s) has(ve) been short-listed will be duly notified and requested to provide, within a month from the notification date, digital images of their work with specifications appropriate for catalogue and exhibit prints (jpg RGB 30õ40cm landscape 300 dpi). Instructions re: the submission of materials will be duly provided.
Final Top Ten Selection The best 10 visual billboard visions to beproduced and exhibitedas A-A-H ! Billboards in Sofia’s downtown area will be selected during this stage. Artistic merits of individual works, contribution to the A-A-H ! theme and potential for ‘art delivery’ in public spaces will be considered. Each applicant, whose work (s) has(ve) become part of the final selection will be duly notified and requested to provide, within a month from the notification date, digital images of their work with specifications appropriate for billboard prints (jpg RGB 30õ40cm, landscape 720 dpi). Instructions re: the submission of materials will be duly provided.
Artistic means will be not subject to any particular eligibility requirements provided that the final product is a digital image.
NB: Please note that upon receipt of contest materials the organizers will further act upon the assumption that: 1. The person (s) submitting the materials is (are) the author(s) unless otherwise clearly communicated during the application process . 2. The submitted materials are not subject to a copyright held by a third party . 3. The author(s) of the materials accept(s) this contest’s rules and regulations and remise their usage rights over the contest materials for project purposes, including visibility, throughout the duration of this project.
